SWIM TEAM
**Emma Mishler (one of our 9-10 year old swimmers) was admitted to Wake Med Children’s Ward this week with a severe sinus infection. Emma had surgery on Tuesday afternoon to remove this very serious infection and will stay at Wake Med until the end of the week. Please keep Emma in your thoughts and prayers. If you would like to send Emma or her family well wishes, the address is: 317 Compton Rd., 27609; email: jmishler1@nc.rr.com (John & Kate Mishler)
- Lakemont vs. TCC: the bad news is we lost the meet. The good news is we were able to swim indoors and not have to reschedule the swim meet for the next day
We had some great swims and the hard work at practice is certainly paying off: 58 of our swimmers made at least one new personal best! Go Torpedoes!!!! - Last week’s Awards:
- Speeding Ticket – Freddie Woodward swam so fast that he dropped 10 seconds in his 50 yard butterfly!
- Torpedo Award – Thomas Klien. Despite being behind by almost half a lap in the 200 yard free relay, Thomas swam an amazing race to out touch the TCC swimmer. Thomas’s unofficial relay split was 24.7 seconds!!!
- Swimmer of the Week – Bridget Jeter, a first year swimmer, continues to amaze parents, coaches, and other swimmers with her speed in the water. As she swims each race, her confidence continues to grow and she continues to improve!
- Swim Team Banquet! Just a reminder that the swim team banquet will be on Thursday, July 28 at the pool at 6 pm. If you can help decorate the banquet, please contact Rita Jones (ritajones1@juno.com).
